Initially when the facilitators of SSKK came to meet me they would say the full name of the project is Better Cotton Initiative and the full name of the organisation would be Shikshan Ane Samaj Kalyan Kendra and the project objective, criteria principle. I did not pay attention to these people and farmed as I wished.

They continued to meet me. Kept inviting me to come to the training. I went to trainings. It talked about accurate information and methods that can be applied in agriculture. Gradually I came to know about diseases and pests and also used limited amounts of chemical fertilisers. Farming costs decreased. Production increased.

Details of alternate furrow, drip, and sprinkler system are explained in the water stewardship training. It also talked about which system is more expensive, more profitable and saves water.

Our village is located on the coast and the soil is also saline. From this training I decided that I wanted to instilled drip. The advantages and disadvantages of this technology as well as the general information about the subsidy was obtained from them.

I drip in cotton and take the first crop. Due to high rainfall and constant waterlogging of the soil, cotton did not produce much. But after that I have made 3 vigha of chickpeas in a drip. In which I have given less irrigation as compared to other farmer brothers as well as the growth of chickpeas is also good and my estimate is that the production will also be more as compared to others. I have reduced the cost of weeding.

Thus, there are advantages and disadvantages to this method. Ever since I adopted this method I have had to work less in farming as well as different costs have come down and production has increased.
